The branch has been very active in challenging a number of planning applications in recent months. These include an Anerobic Digester, huge pylons across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands proposed by the National Grid, numerous overlarge ground mounted solar projects and a number of inappropriate housing developments on greenfield sites. CPRE also continues to resist the construction of an oil well at Biscathorpe in Lincolnshire.
Branch Officers attended 3 days of the Rutland Local Plan hearing at Rutland County Council, led by the Planning Inspectorate, to consider approval of the new Rutland Local Plan. We await publication of the Inspector’s Report having made numerous proposals for change that were disregarded but addressed again at the hearings.
